ChatCamp ("we," "our," or "the app") is a peer-to-peer messaging application developed and published by Polozhevets OÜ, an Estonian company. ChatCamp enables direct communication between nearby devices. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

2. Information We DON'T Collect

ChatCamp is built with a privacy-first approach. We do NOT collect, store, or transmit:

• Your messages or chat history
• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Usage analytics or statistics
• Device identifiers for tracking
• Cookies or tracking technologies
• Any data to third-party services

3. How ChatCamp Works

ChatCamp uses Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework to enable direct, local communication between devices:

Device Discovery

• Your device broadcasts a username you choose to nearby devices
• This username is only visible to devices within local network range
• No internet connection or servers are involved

Message Exchange

• Messages are sent directly from your device to the recipient's device
• Messages are encrypted by Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework
• Messages are stored only on your device
• No messages pass through our servers (we don't have any servers)

Local Storage

• All chat history is stored locally on your device only
• You can delete conversations at any time
• Deleting the app removes all stored data

4. Permissions

ChatCamp requests the following permissions:

Local Network Access

Purpose: Required to discover and connect to nearby devices for peer-to-peer messaging.

Data Usage: Used only for device discovery. No data is sent to external networks or servers.

Notification Badges (Optional)

Purpose: To display unread message counts on the app icon.

Data Usage: Badge counts are calculated locally on your device. No notification data is sent anywhere.

File Access (When Sharing Files)

Purpose: To allow you to share photos, videos, and documents with nearby users.

Data Usage: Files are sent directly to the recipient's device. No files are uploaded to any server.

5. Data Security

• Encryption: All peer-to-peer connections use Apple's built-in encryption
• Local Storage: Data is protected by your device's security features
• No Cloud Sync: Messages are never backed up to iCloud or any cloud service
• No Third Parties: We never share data with third parties because we never collect it

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

ChatCamp does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics tools, or any other tracking technologies. The app does not track your behavior, usage patterns, or any other information. No third-party tracking services are integrated into the app.

7. Children's Privacy

ChatCamp does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR). Since all communication is peer-to-peer and local, parents have complete control over who their children communicate with based on physical proximity.

Age Restrictions: While ChatCamp is safe by design (no data collection), we recommend parental guidance for children as with any communication tool.

8. Your Rights and Controls

You have complete control over your data:

• Username: Change your display name at any time in Settings
• Conversations: Delete individual conversations or clear all chat history
• Visibility: Go offline to stop broadcasting your device to nearby users
• Data Deletion: Uninstalling the app completely removes all data

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of ChatCamp after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. International Users

ChatCamp is published by Polozhevets OÜ, an Estonian company operating within the European Union. The app works the same way worldwide. Since all data stays on your device and no information is transmitted to servers, there are no cross-border data transfer concerns or GDPR data export issues.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under GDPR Article 6, a legal basis is required for processing personal data. However, ChatCamp does not process, collect, or store any personal data. All communication occurs directly between devices using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework. Therefore, GDPR data processing requirements do not apply.

Your GDPR Rights

Under the GDPR, EU residents have the following rights. Since ChatCamp doesn't collect data, here's how these rights apply:

• Right to Access (Art. 15): Not applicable - we have no data about you to access
• Right to Rectification (Art. 16): Not applicable - we store no data to rectify
• Right to Erasure (Art. 17): You control all data locally; simply delete the app

• Right to Object (Art. 21): Not applicable - no profiling or automated decisions

Data Retention

We do not retain any data because we do not collect any data. All messages and conversation history are stored exclusively on your device and under your control.

Not applicable. No data is transferred to any servers, inside or outside the EU. All communication is peer-to-peer between local devices.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
